Erik's one-of-a-kind Comedy*/Aerobatics act begins with one of the wildest take-offs you will ever see, and features the world's first and only inverted comedy pass. Halfway through the act, the announcer lets the audience in on the gag as "Hobie's antics transform to Erik's full-on inside outside, gyroscopic, energy management aerobatics."
*A note on Comedy “Characters”
Erik’s original comedy character is “Hobie Washburn,” a lovable parrot head. “Hobie” is a crowd favorite and will always be available at shows that request him. However, other characters and set-ups to the comedy act are available on request.
Ground "banter" with Hobie or other characters can be lengthened, shortened, or eliminated to fit your airshow's needs. A more extended version is shown in the video to the right
Erik's Aerobatics Only act begins with a roll to inverted followed by an inverted climb out and features full-on inside/outside, gyroscopic, finesse, energy management aerobatics.
Erik's deadstick routine features Loops, Cloverleaves, Cuban 8s, Point rolls, and Inverted flight and often features an industry first and only deadstick roll to landing. A crowd favorite, Erik can fly either power on act and the deadstick act in the same show day.
Erik's twilight performance can consist of any of the above routines (comedy within visibility safety parameters).
As of Fall 2023, Erik offers a “Lit Up” Night Act in the T-Clips featuring 14 individual AeroLED lights and 4 color changing light strips synced with the aerobatic show!
At select locations with select performers, formation and “squirrel cage” acts are also available!
